the Lake District
The Lake District is without doubt one of the most photographed areas in the UK, and justifiably so. The sweeping hills, rich history of the area and the notoriously... versatile weather combine to offer some incredible photographic opportunities. With that in mind, it would be all to easy too fall into the trap of offering little more than the standard images of our favorite views.
However, the beauty of the Lake District is not solely to be found in the grand vista. It is an intricate landscape, and it contains a rich detail that is easily overlooked. It can be all too tempting to ignore rocks you sheltered from the wind behind, the stream you stop for lunch next to or even the crag you have been climbing, in favour of the view over neighbouring hills.
Which is a shame.
Hopefully in this collection I have addressed this, and managed to strike something of a balance. It's a beautiful place, and it only gets more beautiful the closer you look.
