A Lakes Exchange
02nd December 2009
Things have been happening kind of fast over the last couple of months.... I´m not sure what came first: the offer of an exhibition in the Theatre by the Lake or the decision to go to Patagonia for a few months, but the end result is that I´m now touring the most southern regions of South America with my camera putting together images specifically for an exhibition called "Lakes Exchange."
The reason for the title is that it´s a joint project: I have the good fortune to be working with an excellent Chilean painter, Jaime Medina Jimenez. He will be visiting the Lake District in England to paint the unique landscapes there while I go on tour with my camera photographing the landscapes in Patagonia.
I thought that it might be interesting to keep a record of how the project progresses, and to that end I have set up a blog which I will be updating as regularly as I can:
dougiec.wordpress.com
In the blog you´ll find more information about the exhibition (which is opening as part of the Keswick Mountain Festival), and stories and photographs from the road.
Despite being on the road for the next few months, orders through the Solitude Gallery will still be processed and dispatched. Please be aware however that it may take up to an extra week as I have to contact my representatives in the UK, and there will be times when I am out in the wilderness for some time.
